Here's a list of all the lovely people who contribute to Petside UK on a regular basis. To help you get to know them a little better, here's a bit about their background and why they're perfect for Petside...
Alison Worgan
Alison has had a passion for animals since she was a small child, owning a wide variety of pets throughout her life. However, although she has been nipped and scratched by a whole host of different species during her lifetime, that passion still survives! Alison and her husband now own a smallholding where they can indulge even further and their menagerie has expanded to include pigs, sheep, goats and chickens. She will share with you her experience and passion, bringing you interesting articles on all aspects of owning a wide variety of pets, from dogs to reptiles and cats to turtles.
Angela Neal
Angela Neal is a freelance writer and animal lover living in the sunny West Coast of Scotland. She has written for numerous magazines and websites around the world, and has spent several years working as a volunteer assistant at veterinary practices and animal shelters in the US and the UK. She is an avid cat lover, but even her degree in psychology can't help her untangle their complex behaviour. She admits that if there is one thing she knows about cats it is that they always know better!
Julie-Ann Amos
Julie-Ann Amos has always had pets, including horses, giant landsnails, snakes, marine fish and a pet rat, but has had dogs since the day she was born. One of her dogs earned more per day than she did as an Animal Actor in TV commercials, working through her own agent and having a dog trailer and chauffeur during filming on location! Julie-Ann trained in dog behaviour, and spent 2 years at the RAF Police Dog Training School (training Police, not dogs) and has worked agility, obedience and working trials. She's unable to work dogs any longer due to surgery on both knees. She lives in the Forest of Dean, with partner and two pedigree border collies. She is currently considering veterinary homeopathy training.
Michael Baggs
As well as growing up on his family's farm in Surrey, Michael was often in the company of the family's cats, dogs, rabbit and gerbils. Since then Michael has gone on to travel the world as a successful musician, music and fashion journalist, social and new media manager, but still finds time to visit his mother and feed the pheasants over her garden's back wall. He counts the twenty two years he shared with his beloved cat Harry as amongst the greatest blessings life has bestowed on him. When not busy he can often be found enjoying the countryside, watching wild birds and contemplating his dream of one day having a home that can fit a beehive in the garden.
Oli Johnson
Oli Johnson is a freelance Advertising Copywriter (and pet lover) with over 7 years' experience working in the commercial sector. He has worked on Direct Marketing, TV, Radio, Press, Packaging as well as Ambient and Guerrilla advertising amongst other bits and bobs. He has worked on plenty of pet-related projects and PR in the past - not to mention growing up with an abundance of household pets over the years. (Fond memories of stick insects escaping all over the house) So, it was nice to get his paws scribbling for petside and share his passions and latest news with pet lovers the world over.
