Owner's Guide
Relatively rare, Bergamascos are an ancient, hardy breed that originated in the Iranian mountains where they were bred to tend and guard sheep. Resilient and vigorous, Bergamascos are independent and protective.
Originally bred to guard flocks of sheep from wolves.

This dog may display aggression towards strangers.
Pet dogs may be more comfortable and less smelly if shaved, especially if living indoors. Hair needs to be pulled back or shaved around the eyes so they can see clearly.
