Short Haired Group
The earliest cat shows in the final decades of the 19th century lumped all cats with short coats into one category 'Short-haired cats'. There were some that were named simply by their fur colour, while others has distinctive breed names like Siamese or Manx. 
Medium Haired Group
Cats with medium length hair include some of the most-liked and discussed breeds around. Many of the medium hair cat breeds, except for the Chartreux and Egyptian Mau, are also seen in short hair and long hair categories. 
Long Haired Group
Long-haired domestic cat breeds have been around for centuries, but their popularity did not reach a peak until the Victorian era when Queen Victoria herself owned two, and they became the star attractions at the earliest cat shows. Search Results: Long Haired
