Owner's Guide

Distinctive, elegant, exuberant and agile, Dalmatians like to run and run. They are enjoyable pets providing they can get the exercise they need, and are friendly and affectionate. Good socialization is needed from an early age to ensure tolerance of other dogs.

Originally bred: to run alongside carriages.

The Dalmation loves running, and has plenty of stamina.

High. Quiet at home but needs long, energetic walks.
