Owner's Guide
Loyalty to their owners comes high on the Munsterlander's list of priorities, with exercise a close second. These strong-willed dogs are full of energy and will play games all day if they can. The Small Munsterlander is a different breed that looks similar, but is smaller, and the coat is liver instead of black.
Originally bred as a colour variation of the German Wirehaired Pointer for tracking, pointing and retrieving on land and in water.
Special Characteristics
This dog is energetic and playful, and interested in scents.

High. Needs exercise both inside and outside the house.

Some lines can be strong-willed and prone to status-related aggression with gentle owners, and unless well socialized may see strangers as a threat.
This dog's feathers will bring in mud and dirt from outside.
