Colour: Apricot-fawn, silver-fawn, fawn, or dark fawn-brindle. Muzzle, ears and nose should be black with black around orbits, and extending upwards between them.

Owner's Guide

Powerful and courageous, the Mastiff's sheer size alone would deter all but the most determined intruder. They are protective of owners and territory and require a great deal of time for early and continued socialization with both dogs and people.

Originally bred: for guarding.

Low - Medium. Enjoys exercise without being over-demanding.

Experienced, physically strong, strong-willed owner who will socialize and train this powerful dog well and who has a large home and car to accommodate this giant breed.

Potential problems
Dogs from some lines may be aggressive to strangers and other dogs, and may show status-related problems.

This dog's shortened nose can make breathing difficult, and it is likely to snore. Loose jowls will lead to saliva control problems.
