Old English Sheepdog
Colour: Any shade of grey, grizzle or blue. Body and hindquarters of solid colour with or without white socks
Lifespan: 12 to 13 years
The Old English Sheepdog is affectionate, bold and faithful.
Lively, playful Old English Sheepdogs have a massive coat. Prolonged daily grooming is needed if they are to remain tangle-free and pet dogs may be more comfortable and more manageable if they are clipped, especially in summer.
Originally bred to herd sheep.
The Old English Sheepdog likes to chase.
Medium. Joins in with enthusiasm.

Children: good, may be clumsy with young children

Strangers: usually friendly
Unfamiliar Dogs: good if well socialized
Active, confident owner who has plenty of time for exercise, play, training and coat care.
Dogs from some lines may display possessive aggression over toys or food.
This dog's coat requires prolonged daily grooming to keep it in good condition. The hair above its eyes needs to be tied back so that the dog can see clearly.
