The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is bold, outgoing, alert, active, steady and confident.
Pembrokes are born without a tail and have a character that is wilful, determined and reckless. Reserved with strangers, they make good watchdogs, but can be snappy when defending property unless they have been properly socialised.
Originally bred to drive cattle.
This corgi is by nature courageous and determined.

Children: good, may nip ankles in play

Unfamiliar dogs: good if well socialized
Experienced, strong-willed owner who can provide exercise, play and training to ensure that nipping ankles does not become this dog's job.
