Owner's Guide
Skye Terriers have a coat that needs care and attention to keep it free of tangles. They are reserved and territorial with strangers, but affectionate and loyal to owners. They have retained a strong desire to hunt, and need careful socialization to ensure they are tolerant with strangers and other dogs.
Originally bred to hunt and kill otter, badger and weasel.

Tendency to be aggressive to strangers. May display status-related aggression to gentle owners.
Daily coat care is needed to prevent tangling. Hair should be cut or tied up out of the eyes so this dog can see clearly.
