Owner's Guide
With its distinctive curly coat, this dog is loyal and likes to bond closely to its owners. It is a natural guard and is aloof or territorial with strangers. A hard-working, willing dog, it needs plenty of activity to be happy.
Originally bred to work with fishermen and for herding and retrieving.
Special Characteristics
Responsive to commands, the Spanish Water Dog is playful and energetic, and likes to swim. Has a curled woolly coat which forms cords when long.
