Bred by miners to hunt rats, Yorkshire Terriers are feisty, courageous hunters despite their small size. Playful, tenacious and stubborn, these busy little dogs make good watchdogs. Excessive barking will need to be controlled and they require daily grooming sessions to de-tangle their long hair.
Originally bred: to hunt and kill rats.

Tends to bark excessively, especially if under-exercised.
This dog's coat will bring mud and dirt in from outdoors, and requires daily grooming to prevent mats from forming. The long hair on the top of the head needs to be clipped or tied up out of the eyes so the dog can see clearly.
