Q: My kitten leaves hair all over my flat. Why is he malting in November when I would have thought he'd keep his fur in the colder months?

A: Cats moult all year round, so I'm afraid you will never be clear of this problem! You can certainly expect the shedding to be heavier during the warmer months, but he will still shed fur during the winter as well. If you think he may be shedding excessively, check the temperature in your flat - your thermostat may be set too high and fooling his body into thinking it's not winter yet.
Stress also causes increased shedding, which may be a factor depending on what else is going on in your flat (e.g. other pets he does not get along with, noisy flatmates, renovations).
