Latest cat fads

We all know how independent cats are and how much they love to do their own thing! For this reason, it is not surprising to see them pushing the barriers when it comes to current trends. Some of these activities are full of fun and enjoyment while others reveal life's darker side. Here, we will go through some of the latest fads within the cat world.
Kung Fu Kittens
Who needs a guard dog when you have a cat that knows one of the oldest martial arts on the planet? With a little help from a laser pointer, you can train your cats in the ways of kung fu, giving them the ability to leap up to three feet in a flurry of flailing paws. This is actually a very practical fad as you and your cat will then keep your home safe from burglars and any other unwanted intruders. After all, with the powerful combination of martial arts and kitty stealth, who in their right mind would want to invade your home?
Cat Juggling
On to one of the more twisted fads that have emerged in recent years, cat juggling was brought to the public's attention in the ever-popular Steve Martin film, The Jerk. While we cannot fathom why anyone would want to watch several cats being thrown around in the air, this pastime is actually taking off in some regions of the world! If you know of anyone who enjoys this disturbing trend, please notify your local animal welfare organization immediately. These poor kitties deserve a better life than being aimlessly tossed around.
Whack-a-Kitty
Combining one of the most popular games on the planet with the irresistible cuteness of kittens, Whack-a-Kitty is definitely up there as one of the must-have experiences around these days. While it may seem harsh, it is actually quite humane as the paddles that are used are soft and applied very, very gently. All that you need is a box and nine kittens and you are ready to have the time of your life! Hopefully this fad won't spread to our local bowling alleys!
Exercising Kitties
One of the healthiest cat fads to hit the world today is the realisation that even your feline friends need daily exercise. One of the more popular methods of working out here is the treadmill, as you can put several cats on it at once! What better way to enjoy a moment with your kitties and keep active, fit and healthy at the same time? If you haven't introduced your cats to the wonders of the treadmill, now is certainly the right moment to do so.
