8 Reasons Why a Dog Is a Single Girl's Best Friend

All of us single girls have had plenty of years of blind dates, good and bad dates and even internet dating plus the love and support of family friends.

But is a dog a Man's best friend? We think a dog is a single girl's best friend. Here's why.

1. They offer unconditional love.

Did somebody stand you up or leave you whilst they went to the toilet and never came back? No worries - your puppy will greet you with open paws and without judgment, even though you left her alone to go out on a date.

2. They feed your nurturing instincts.

Women are maternal by nature but may not be ready to have a baby? You can get pleasure and fulfillment from your pooch by taking care of her, brushing her, bathing her, playing with her, snuggling up in bed with her, showing off pictures of her and even singing to her!

3. In some ways they can be better than babies.

Now, dogs are a lot of responsibility but if you get a last-minute invitation after work, they'll happily continue their nap for a few more hours without you. No worrying about who'll babysit while you enjoy yourself!

4. They help you get in shape.

It's a great excuse to take some exercise to keep that body in shape. A walk twice a day with your dog will wake you up in the morning and de-stress you in the evening and burn calories to boot!

5. They attract other dogs.

A walk in the park can attract other dogs and make you friends. Single men have dogs too... Your dog and theirs can be a good excuse to start a conversation!

6. They broaden your horizons.

Sick of dating websites? Hanging around the park, obedience classes and pet shops gives you a whole new dating pool - and men can't lie about their height if you meet them in person.

7. They're great screeners.

If you meet someone who loves your dog, thinks it's cute when she snuggles up with you in bed and is always happy to walk or play with her, then you will know that he is sweet, caring, easygoing and lovable. And if he has a dog of his own, then he's clearly mature and responsible enough to keep a growing creature alive and thriving. Smell husband material girls!

8. They make you happy to come home.

Nothing is more depressing than an empty home (and an empty bed) when you crave company. With a dog waiting to greet you as soon as you step in the door, it makes a single girl's house a home!
